Businesses operating as a Nonemergency Transportation company (Medicar) are required to carry limits of liability of not less than $250,000/$250,000/$50,000 in the state of Illinois. The required limits of insurance needed in the City of Chicago however are set at $350,000 CSL. Without an Accord certificate of insurance proving you are covered to at least the minimum limits, the State of Illinois DMV will not sell you your commercial plates.
